As stated in the SANF Organisational Profile, the basic syllabus of the SANF has been structured in such a manner so as to provide the student with a solid foundation of effective martial art techniques, using KOGA Ryu Ninjitsu as a basics. As the student progress, he/she will gain an in-depth fundamental understanding of the basics of Koga Ryu Ninjitsu. It takes approximately 3 years to obtain a Black Belt grading. The training starts at the 9th Kyu level.

Basic Training

9th Kyu: Deflections: (not blocking) includes, but not limited to: Different types of deflections, stepping techniques, elements, correct posture, balance, rolling techniques, Kata Dante, class etiquette, introduction to basic multiple attacks and basic awareness techniques.

8th Kyu: Striking: Includes striking but not limited to: Punching, kicking, pinching, grabbing, bending, breaking, dislocation, tearing, ripping, poking, scratching and squeezing. Using the WHOLE BODY to strike our opponents, by use of all parts of the boys including: head (front, back and sides), shoulders, elbows, inner and outer forearms, wrists, use of entire hand (fist, knuckles, fingers, nails and palms,) torso, knees, shins, use of entire foot (heels, toes, side and bridge). Proper mind-set, when, where and how to strike effectively.

7th Kyu: Takedowns: Includes takedowns but not limited to: Using WHOLE BODY to take down our opponents by use of all parts of the body including: Shoulders, hips, elbow, inner and outer forearm, wrists, use of entire hand (fist, knuckles, fingers, nails and palms,) torso, knees, legs, use of entire foot (heels, toes, side and bridge). Proper mind-set, when, where and how to takedown effectively.

Senior Training

6th Kyu: Ground work, body holds, pain compliance techniques, Knife & Gun hold ups defense against weapons.

5th Kyu: Knife control attack, defense & retention, SANF Knife Syllabus, Piper Knife System, Single blade, curved blade.
4th Kyu: Jo – (Short Stick) in attack, defense and retention.
3rd Kyu :4 foot Hanbo – (Staff) in attack, defense and retention.
2nd Kyu: Single PR 24 – (Tonfa) in attack, defense & retention.
1st Kyu: Nunchakus, Belt work and Single Arm Fighting in attack & defense.

Advance Training

Black Belt – Minimum three years 100% attendance, done behind closed doors not open to public.
